Perfect climate for lazy summer days
The
Loire is the largest river in France. Together with its many tributaries and the influence of the sea 80 miles to the west, it moderates the climate of the area to produce a wonderful softening effect (appreciated by the French as "la douceur Angevine").
The climate is ideal for summer holidays, benefiting from the longer summer evenings yet avoiding the searing summer heat of the south.
From April to September, the region enjoys more than 20 days of sunshine per month. Daytime temperatures in the summer average between 21C-27C (70-80F). Annual rainfall figures are among the lowest in France.
