Perfect climate for lazy summer days

The Loire is the largest river in France, and together with its many tributaries including the Maine, the Cher and the Indre, it moderates the climate of the area.  The influence of the river, and the rich fertile soil, lend the area its name of the "Garden of France". The area is ideal for summer holidays, benefiting from the longer summer evenings and yet avoiding the searing summer heat of the south.
From April to September, the region enjoys more than 20 days of sunshine per month. Daytime temperatures in the summer average between 21C-27C (70-80F). Annual rainfall figures are among the lowest in France.
